There are over 30 multispeciality hospitals within ten kilometres of Anna Nagar. Most are corporate chains. We are not.
Dr. Prakash Selvam spent a decade at Soundarapandian Bone & Joint and another stint at Apollo Hospitals before opening a clinic in Mogappair in 2012. The Anna Nagar branch came in 2018. The full multispeciality hospital opened on 23 April 2023. Every step was a choice to stay close to patients - not to scale away from them.
What that looks like in practice: the surgeon who quotes your procedure is the surgeon who performs it. The hepatologist who diagnoses your liver disease is the one who reads your follow-up scans. There is no general manager between you and the doctor making decisions about your treatment.

Orthopaedics under Dr. Selvam. Hepatology under Dr. Venugopal. Around those two anchors, a multidisciplinary team covering cardiology, gastroenterology, paediatrics, gynaecology, nephrology, and the surgical disciplines.
When the cardiologist needs to consult the hepatologist about a patient's medication interactions, they walk twenty steps to do it. No emails, no referrals, no waiting room.
On the day of a festival, I had a leg fracture after an accident on my two-wheeler. In spite of the holiday, Dr. Prakash Selvam came in and did the surgery, and helped me with my recovery. Nurses and doctors are very friendly.
